What is UBG?
UBG is Augustana's student entertainment programming board. It provides a huge range of activities and events for students on campus. The core members of UBG are its sixteen governors. The governors are selected in the spring of each year through an interview process. There are six individual programming boards that make up UBG, they are: Big Event, Coffeehouse, Dance, Entertainment, Film, and Lecture. Each programming board is led by two governors. There are also individual positions for: Marketing Assistant, Finance, and Administrative Assistant.
UBG operates on a budget provided by student activity fee dollars allocated through the Augustana Student Association. The decision of what programs to bring to campus is made by the governors with the help of Jeff Venekamp, the Student Activities Director, and student volunteers who give their input. If you are interested in becoming a student volunteer on any of the 5 programming boards, send an email to ubg@ole.augie.edu
UBG strives to bring quality entertainment that the students of Augustana can enjoy. If you have an idea for a specific event that you would like to see on campus, please contact us by using one of the many options found on the "Contact" link.
